We know that moment because we’ve both lived it , more than once.
The Early Days: Passion, Chaos, and Coffee-Fueled Survival
When we started as doulas, we were running purely on heart. We’d take every client, say yes to every request, and call that “success.” Winging it was our motto.
No boundaries. No systems. No idea how to price ourselves or protect our energy. We thought exhaustion was part of being a “good doula.”
And honestly? We almost quit.
Because love for this work will get you in the door, but it won’t keep you in the room if you’re constantly depleted.
The Turning Point
Somewhere along the way, we realized we didn’t need to hustle harder. We needed to be held better.
We found mentors. We built systems. We learned to charge our worth, protect our time, and show up with confidence instead of chaos. We stopped performing professionalism and started embodying leadership.
And that’s when everything shifted, not just our income, but our impact, our peace, our joy.
The Birth of The Mentorship
After 13+ years, hundreds of births, and building a thriving doula agency, one thing became crystal clear: The birth world doesn’t need more certifications. It needs mentorship.
