Writer: Dynamic Doulas Of LondonDynamic Doulas Of London

You want a natural birth, but did you know that some seemingly small choices can increase your chances of medical intervention? Let’s talk about the 5 biggest mistakes that lead to interventions—and how to avoid them.

Arriving at the hospital too early.

Plan to stay home longer than you think possible. For first time parents we like to encourage a 3.1.1. Contractions every 3 minutes, lasting at least a minute, for over an hour. There is NOTHING more discouraging than being sent home from the hospital to labour longer at home.

Not hiring a doula 👩‍🍼

You need someone who’s only focused on YOU! Having a doula has been proven to reduce the occurence of unnecessary interventions. You and your doula will work together in pregnancy to build a birth care plan, discussing your wants and needs, and keeping the team all on the same page for your choices in birth.
